Brittany Murphy Dies At Age 32

We are in absolute shock.

Actress Brittany Murphy passed away on Sunday morning in Los Angeles at the age of 32.

People just don’t typically die at 32 of natural causes!!!!!!!

Absolutely devastating. Especially because this comes as no surprise! We, and those who knew Brittany personally, saw this coming. That does not make this any less horrible.

Murphy reportedly went into full cardiac arrest and her husband, Simon Monjack, immediately called paramedics to save his wife.

Murphy was announced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after paramedics and doctors could not revive the 8 Mile actress.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this extremely difficult time.

No Music Reviews

I know I haven’t posted any music reviews in a while, and I promise I will, but it’s Christmas time! And rather than wasting my life away online, I’m spending this wonderful holiday with my family.

I’m sure to get a lot of CD’s for Christmas though, so hopefully by next week I’ll start posting reviews for those new CD’s! (And DVD concerts?) We’ll see. Merry Christmas!

Simon Cowell Leaves American Idol

Simon Cowell will be leaving “American Idol” at the end of the season and starring in an American version of his British hit music show, “X Factor,” starting in 2011, according to reports.

Cowell, whose “Idol” contract expires in May and who has been in talks with Fox since last summer, is preparing to announce the new arrangement with Fox early next year, the Times Of London reports.

The future of “Idol” would be thrown into serious doubt if the show’s indisputable star leaves, it would appear.

Officials from Fox, “Idol” and Cowell’s own company yesterday refused comment.

Enjoy the new season of “Idol” because it will probably be the last.

No one in charge of the show — or of the network that airs it, Fox — is saying that.

But if reports that Simon Cowell will end his run on “Idol” after this season and bring his monster Brit hit “X Factor” to the US in 2011 are true, then it’s curtains for the TV show that defined the decade.

Promo for “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” Comes to an End

Mariah Carey isn’t going through such a good stage in her career right now. Her record label Island/Def Jam has decided to drop all promotion from her album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel – including promotion for the last single “HATE U”. Since its release, the album has sold just over 300,000 copies in the US.

So, what’s next? A remix album will be released comes February instead which is to include remixes of songs from Memoirs as well as four new tracks. The first single to be released from this remixes album is a reworked version of the song “Angels Cry” which will feature Ne-Yo. Expect to hear this on the radio starting January 4th.

Kendra Wilkinson’s Baby Boy

World, meet Hank Randall Baskett IV — newborn son of Kendra Wilkinson, 24, and her husband, Hank Baskett, 27, a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts.

After initially planning a natural childbirth, the former Playboy model delivered the couple’s first child by C-section at 12:37 a.m. on Dec. 12, 2009, in Carmel, Ind. (4 days ago)

“I was just in heaven,” the star of E!’s Kendra tells OK!. Echoes Hank, “It was awesome.”

From their room at Clarian North Medical Center, the proud parents, who wed on June 27 at the Playboy Mansion in L.A., opened up to OK! about their big (9 pounds, 5 ounces, and 22 inches!) bundle of joy — only in the new issue of OK!, on sale everywhere Thursday!

Congratulations! How are you feeling?
Kendra: Thanks. I have labor brain. I forgot everything that happened!
Hank: I am in straight awe, trust me.

How did you prepare for coming to the hospital?
Kendra: The good thing about being induced is that it’s like planning a trip, just very calm. We ate a huge dinner before we came to the hospital. I ate a whole batch of brownies because I was nervous. No wonder he’s 9 pounds!

What happened at the hospital?
Kendra: I was induced early in the morning; then it was wait, wait, wait. I was experiencing contractions throughout the day, and I was anxious. I kept checking the monitor every second, like “Is it happening yet?”

For more, this issue hits newsstands Thursday.

Carrie Underwood on Self Magazine

Carrie Underwood is a casual beauty on the January 2010 cover of Self. Here’s what the 26-year-old had to say:

On her biggest pet peeves being animal neglect and kitchen chaos : “I hate it when people don’t take care of their pets. It’s important to spay or neuter them… And it drives me crazy when people put stuff in the wrong place. When I have people over and they try to help clean up, I’m like, ‘No, I’ve got it!’ I may not be able to control every aspect of my life, but I can control where my pots go and what color cups are lined up where. The red ones go here.”

On ways to blow off steam: “If I’m ticked off, I’ll get a punching bag and beat the crap out of it… I [also] love Monday Night Football and The Biggest Loser, and I rarely miss an episode of American Idol.”

On wanting to start a family: “Not that I have a husband to have one with yet, but someday I’d like a family—not a big one, but not a small one either. Two kids is good; three is fine. Four? Somebody’s getting something done, because we ain’t having five!”

“Fearless” To Be Taylor Swift’s Fifth Single

“Fearless,” the title track of 20-year-old country superstar’s second album, will be the fifth single to be released January 4, 2010. Personally, I think this song will do very well for her. However, I think she has better songs on the album. What do you think?
